Technology Deep Subwoofer Extension

The Genelec 7370A SAM active subwoofer is an effective and precise bass monitor for up to 7.1 surround systems. With its 19Hz low-frequency extension, high-sound-pressure output capacity, and adjustable bass control system, the 7370A provides precise low-frequency monitoring for all analog and digital applications, including recording studios, digital workstations, and TV and radio broadcasting facilities. The 7370A has various unique technologies, including Genelec’s LSE (Laminar Spiral Enclosure), AutoCal, and the GLM control network. An inbuilt 400-watt Class D amplifier drives the 12″ subwoofer and has active crossovers, Intelligent Signal Sensing, and protective circuits. For strong, clean deep bass extension with Genelec SAM full-range speakers, the 7370A is highly recommended.

The LSE Subwoofer Reflex Cabinet

Genelec’s Laminar Spiral Enclosure is constructed of sheet metal folded into a spiral form and secured between thick MDF side panels. This unique construction approach gives outstanding laminar flow properties while minimizing turbulence noise, allowing for the ideal packing of a very long reflex tube into a tiny area. The amplifier unit built inside the cabinet has active crossover filters and driver overload protection circuitry. The built-in bass control device has six signal input and output channels, summed signal output connections, and an LFE input with a +10dB sensitivity switch.

AutoCal and Bass Control

Genelec’s cutting-edge AutoCal technology automatically aligns each subwoofer for volume, crossover phase, timing, and room response equalization. The 7370A utilizes Genelec’s distributed bass management architecture to handle multichannel low-frequency material, resulting in extended LF performance, precise tone reproduction, and strong dynamic capabilities.
