Austrian Audio OC7
The Austrian Audio OC7 is a cardioid, true condenser small-diaphragm microphone that uses Open Acoustics technology to capture transparent instrument sound in studios or live performances. It features a swivel-joint mechanism for easy adjustments, making it ideal for musicians and sound technicians. With a wide frequency response of 20 Hz to 20 kHz and a handling capacity of up to 154 dB of SPL, it is suitable for energetic transient instruments like snare drums, toms, pianos, and acoustic guitars. The microphone is built in Vienna and undergoes rigorous quality assurance procedures.
Consistent sound with a linear-cardioid polar pattern
Targeted microphone alignment requires precise directionality. The OC7 employs Austrian Audio’s Open Acoustics technology to provide a linear-cardioid polar pattern that collects sound not only from the front but also from the “bleed” from the back or side, evenly and undistorted. This guarantees that even when crosstalk from other instruments is unavoidable, the sound remains decent.
Sturdy microphone for stage or studio
The microphone basket fully protects the OC7’s genuine condenser capsule, allowing it to be safely positioned even in areas where the microphone may be knocked.
The microphone has a second-order high-pass filter with switchable frequencies of 40 and 80 Hz.
With an impressive 154 dB SPL (>160 dB SPL with pad), the OC7 is exceptionally overload-resistant. A -10 dB pad reduces sensitivity by lowering the capsule voltage, allowing you to utilise the mic in front of the loudest sound sources.
Versatile Swivel-Joint Mechanism
Austrian Audio engineers created a swivel arrangement for the microphone basket that allows for a 220° rotation of the field. The microphone may be properly aligned to the sound source or according to personal sound preferences without having to painfully adjust or loosen the microphone stand—frustrations such as mics slipping off or fingers pinched on the stand are no longer an issue.
